ACHIEVING THE PERFECT BLEND

"Dear LullaBellz, I have shoulder length, thick hair and love the look of your Hair Extensions but I’m worried that they won’t blend!

Can you help? - Sarah B"

💌

Hey Sarah!

Having naturally short, thick hair is a common concern amongst customers who are looking into Hair Extensions for the first time, so don't fret! The good news is that we stock various styles and lengths that are specifically designed for use on thicker hair types.

The key to a seamless application and blend when wearing Hair Extensions is to choose the correct thickness and style of Clip-ins, along with appropriate application techniques to suit your natural locks and to guarantee the best blend. First and foremost, from telling us a little bit about your hair, we would automatically recommend our Super Thick 5 Piece Clip-ins for the most realistic blend, finish and look.

You may want to play around with the placements of each weft until you have achieved your desired style, and so your natural hair is completely concealed underneath, but this is the beauty of our Hair Extensions - they're completely versatile and can be worn to suit your individual needs.

Choosing a textured style such as Curly, Blow Dry Wavy or Textured Wave can also be hugely beneficial when wearing any type of clip-ins. The key is styling your natural hair to mimic the Hair Extensions so that there are no tell-tale signs. Check out our blog post here for all things Hair Extension Blending.

WAVE GOODBYE TO GREASE

"Dear LullaBellz, Help! One of my biggest hair struggles is it constantly becoming oily/greasy a day or two after washing.
Do you have any tips?
- Claire F
"

💌

Hey Claire,

Dealing with regular greasy hair a day or two after washing it can be a real pain (especially if your hair wash days align with any plans!), however there are a few tricks and hair hacks you can incorporate into your haircare routine which can combat the overproduction of oil and sebum - resulting in cleansed, healthier hair with results that last.

Firstly, you need to understand why your hair is overcompensating with excess oil. One of the main culprits of hair becoming greasy the day after washing - is well - over washing. Now, this may sound counterproductive and quite the opposite in itself - however there is some scientific evidence to solidify the claims! When we wash our hair, we’re essentially stripping the scalp of its natural healthy oils, resulting in the hair and scalp becoming too dry. When this happens, our body’s sebaceous glands will produce more oil to compensate, and this is when hair becomes overly greasy in a matter of days.

One tried and tested technique to combat greasy hair is to ‘train’ your hair so that you’re washing it less frequently. This will take some strict dedication (and may involve Dry Shampoo to avoid any hair-mergencies), but once you’ve trained your hair and have secured a hair washing routine which allows your hair to stay fresher for longer, you’ll reap the rewards and it’ll be worth it!

Another hair hack is to invest in a Clarifying Shampoo. Put simply, these formula’s will thoroughly clean, cleanse and purify your hair strands. It’s a hugely beneficial product if you’re prone to using styling products on your hair (i.e hairspray, gel, mousse etc) - whereby the build-up of product can sit in your root area and cause it to become overly greasy or heavy.

Other common causes of hair becoming overly greasy can be from the overuse of Conditioner, diet and lifestyle, hormones and even pregnancy. It’s worth consulting with your GP to discuss further if the sudden onset of oily hair is unusual for you.
